steps for making paper!!

HELLO FELLOW BLOGGERS
Manukau is starting to make paper, why we are doing this is because we are selling paper and making them into Christmas cards! at the celebration day it is on Saturday! We are selling over one hundred Christmas cards. Why we are making Christmas cards is because it is almost Christmas and we want to sell them as much as possible. It was sort of hard at first but when I started doing it over and over again it got a bit easy and I did not need to ask for help! What materials we need to make paper? All you need is... screen, meshed up paper, A BIG container and a bucket and a towel. What I learnt was making paper it looked really interesting on YouTube watching the people make there very own homemade paper! The really interesting part was scooping the paper onto the frame. My least favourite thing to do was ripping the bits of paper, the paper was sticking to my hands yuck! It changed my thinking because I could make birthday cards as well instead of just making Christmas cards.
We also made stickers at the back in the right hand corner upwards. The stickers had our school name on it, the sticker said... Made by Te Waka Ako.! How we made the stickers was we printed some out from the printer then we cut them out really neatly ( where there is no white paper on the sides )  we put the stickers in the middle at the back and carefully unwrapped the unsticky part and, it literally turned out great.
Here are some photos of the Christmas and the birthday cards!
To me what was good is that the paper cads turned out great! But what was bad was that when the paper was drying some of them ripped to pieces because some of them were ripped by the wind!!!
If you want to know how to make cards I will tell you in order

  • get the bucket then put the ripped up pieces of paper in the bucket
  • keep ripping the paper when it is wet! ( it will help make it more porridge y)
  • when you think it is gooey and nice enough tip the paper and water in the big container!
  • when you pored the paper and water in the container get the picture frame and put the screen on it
  • scoop the paper on the frame and wait for the water to drip down
  • flip the picture frame the other side and carefully take of the screen
  • wipe the screen with a towel and when you think it is ready take the screen of and viola your paper is ready
  • you have to leave it outside or inside for 1 night!
